The Test of English as a Foreign Language or TOEFL
"TOEFL scores," ETS continues, "are accepted by more than 10,000 universities and other
institutions in over 150 countries, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand,
the U.K., the United States, and all across Europe and Asia."
Two Test Formats
FLAG OF AUSTRALIA -from Wikipedia |
TOEFL is administered either as a TOEFL iBT (internet-based test) or TOEFL Paper-Delivered test. TOEFL iBT test sections include Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking.
The TOEFL Paper-Delivered Test is administered only in areas without internet access. It took the place of the Paper-Based test "which was discontinued as of July 2017."
FLAG OF CANADA -from Wikipedia |
Test sections include Reading, Listening, and Writing. "There is no Speaking section," ETS notes, "because of the technical requirements." .
If you plan to take the test, and web access or internet connectivity is not a problem, the TOEFL iBT test is for you.
There's a lot more information about the TOEFL in the ETS home page--www.ets.og/--but I will just zero in on some highlights with corresponding URLs for your convenience.
